My daughter left for bmt on July 5th at Lackland. She has been able to call twice although apparently she was not able to yesterday. She is having a hard time and is in deathly fear of being recycled, as she said they have put her down in "comments" twice as being 'underhydrated'. She has been told that if they have 3 comments, they are recycled. She is also emotionally a wreck, as she signed up 1 1/2 years ago, and this year her Dad was put on hospice care. I write her at LEAST every other day, but am planning on writing her more, as I see that most send letters everyday. Has anybody had a child recycled? If so, what happens? Do they lose the job they have signed on for or ? We are just wondering, as she got a rare job, that is one she definitely wants to keep. Thanks for any info.

Hi Jacies Mom - my son is in the same class as your daughter.  He signed up DEP the same.  I've heard from him twice.  The first time was 10 days ago, he was extremely upset - non stop talk of recycling.  Very broken down.  Everything I've heard is that the recycling is a threat to break them down.  Most of What i've read is that it takes a lot to recycle because they have to go back into an already existing class... lot of work for TI's and AF.
THe second call was just today.  HE was very composed and focused.  My Son has also received a "Comment" in his file --- for missing dust in the latrine while on latrine duty. They told him two more and the would dishonorably discharge him and he'd never get a job anywhere - he's veryworried.  He also told me he's having back problems so they placed him on limited activity and muscle relaxants.  He goes back to the Dr. Tomorrow, if he is not released back to duty they said they recycle him.  He says he'd quit then because he didn't want to have to go through the first few weeks again.  I tried to talk positive, but I'm devastated.  He has planned this career for 1.5 years and has no other options if he comes home.  I pray that he will be better.

These are some sites I found... maybe they will help you.

I just read that most of the time, they only recycle them for the days they had to be off, so if he was unable to do anything for say 3 days, he'd have to go back to the beginning of the week and start with another group that was only about a week behind, hopefully this is correct info
